instructions
I crocheted the Shell Shawl from yarn for 3 mm needles but used a 4.5 mm hook. Yarn ball of 50 gr is 142 m long. You will need 200 gr of yarn for this piece.
The diagram is from a Chinese source but I found it on the Russian site Страна Мам.
The diagram is in 3 colors – red, black and blue for easier reading and following rows. The shell stitches are done with treble crochet stitches, while side stitches are double crochet. All other stitches are chains (circles in the diagram) and single crochet (dots in the diagram).
Start by chaining 8 and do a dc in 4th loop from the hook; next, do a slip stitch in the 1st ch. Turn. This and all other rows start with ch3 and dc in next stitch. Follow the diagram below.
From central arrow to next arrow on the left, repeat the pattern as many times as you want the shawl to be big (I repeated it 9 times). Then, from the 2nd to 3rd arrow repeat the pattern once (or twice like in the original photo with the green shawl). I left out this part of the pattern because I didn’t have enough material. Finally, from 3rd to 4th arrow repeat once.
